Men's Fellowship - 2010
Our year began in May with a conducted walk from the Salt Barge at Marston led by Colin Edmundson. We left the Salt Barge car park and onto the canal bank to look at the Salt Works before walking along the bank towards Marbury. The walk took about 90 minutes as we crossed the Flashes before returning via the New Warrington Road to the Salt Barge. Colin proved to be very knowledgeable on the area and the salt industry and I think we all enjoyed the evening especially as it did not rain.
In July, Peter led us from the Holly Bush down the lanes, across the fields and back along the canal before we had a hearty fish supper. Thanks once again to Peter for ensuring we all got back safely.
September saw us hosting our friends from Stretton Church on a very cold and wet evening. Enough said, but we are hosting them this year in July. Ted Hawker came along in November and gave a very good talk and slide show on the Gardens and Flowers of
Cheshire. I think we all found something interesting during the evening as he revealed some hidden treasures. I am sure that the ladies who were present will be expecting to visit some of the venues this coming summer.
